For six days the Uzbek capital has lived in the atmosphere of creativity and high art, the holiday for everyone who loves the fine, who is talented and who is fond of mastery of arts of others. The Art Week that was organized by the Foundation “Forum of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan” turned into a genuine grand cultural event uniting major exhibition and presentation projects, contests of young designers and photo artists, the festival of national dress, master classes from specialists of various art spheres as well as charity concerts this year.
Exhibition at Savitsky Museum

Karakalpakstan’s Igor Savitsky State Museum of Art is hosting an exhibition “Restored Works”. Among those ninety thousand unique exhibits displayed at the museum, there are some canvases in need of restoration. High professionals from Poland, Germany, France and Bulgaria are assisting in restoration works that have begun recently at the museum with canvases having art and historical importance. These fine art works were kept in private collections for a long period of time and their owners did not care about their storage conditions. The restored canvases have found their initial appearance and color and now gladden the visitors’ eyes.
Competition of Unique Talents Gets a Start

The first round of concert marathon contest within the international innovation project Gifted Children was called in Tashkent. It is unique not only for selecting the best, talented and outstanding children, but also for assisting them in discovering themselves in certain genres. With this purpose, the contest includes five compulsory nominations: variety show, ethnic direction (peoples of the world), travesty genre, stage characters’ defile and New Year congratulation. As few as 15 participants out of 44 will have chance to pass to the final round. They will collect the biggest score in all five nominations in three age categories. Each of the finalists will have to present one stage of variety show in any genre.

I did not attend school at that time. And one day I saw a wooden carved plate. Fabulous ornaments carved in the plate just amazed me – so wonderful a thing could be composed from a simple piece of wood! The opening of the exhibition was held on the eve of the 60th jubilee of the People’s Republic.
